Get Festive: Crochet a Sparkly Christmas Tutu
Christmas Gumdrop Tutu is a free crochet pattern in size 12 months for you all to enjoy!! I love the look of a tutu on little girls. It makes them feel special, and THEY look special!! Christmas is just one of those holidays that people take pictures of like mad!! I wish I had crocheted back when my two daughters were little. Maybe one day, a granddaughter will wear one of these!!

Materials:
I Love This Yarn ( Christmas Sparkle)
Size H Hook
4 Buttons
Tapestry Needle
Tulle—I used the tulle you can get from Walmart. I used five pieces measuring 4 inches wide by 25 yards.
Ribbon – about 5 feet for the waistline and approx. 5 feet for the neck.
Stitches:
Ch- chain
St(s)-stitch(es)
Sl st-slip stitch
Sk- skip
Sc – single crochet
Dc –double crochet
Rep- repeat
Special Stitches:
Shell – sc, ch 2, 4 dc in indicated stitch
Gauge: dc 4 in x 4 in = 14 sts by 10 rows
Ch 82
Sc 2nd ch from the hook, ch 2, 4 dc in same st., *sk next 3, shell in the next st, rep across from * to last 4 sts, sc in the last ch., ch 3 turn.
Row 2:
2 dc into sc, *shell into ch 2 sp, rep from * across to last ch 2 sp, sc into last ch 2 sp, ch 3, turn
Row 3:
2 dc into sc, *shell into ch 2 sp, rep from * across to turning ch 3, sc into 3rd ch of turning ch, ch 3, turn.
Repeat row 3; 13 more times.
Finish off, weave in ends.
The visible shell edge will be the top of the tutu. I wanted it this way to use as a design.
Skip 9 of the shells and add ribbon for the neckline, using the same method in the pictures below.
Sew your 4 buttons onto the back of the tutu, starting at the bottom. *Skip 3 rows, add a button in the next row, and repeat * to the top.
For tulle, cut it into 22-inch-long by 4-inch-wide strips. Fold the strips in half and add them to the dress, following the pictures below!
