K Hook 6.5 mm
1 skein Big Twist in Cream and 1 skein of Big Twist in Deep Purple
Tapestry needle

FPdc- front post dc
sl st – slip stitch
sp(s) – space(s)
st(es) – stitch(es)
tch – turning chain
rep – repeat
beg – beginning


Special Stitches


FPdc – Yo on hook.
Insert hook into hole next to the post of the next stitch, on the “hook side.” Bring the hook back to the front of the dc from behind the post, to the hole
farther from the hook. Yo and draw through a loop, bringing it through both sides of the dc. (3 loops
remaining on hook)

First, make sure to check your gauge. Next, measure your work carefully. Therefore, your hat will fit perfectly.

Thus, your tension is key. As a result, your cables will pop. Finally, weaving in ends is a breeze.

Gauge: 2 inch by 2 inch = 7 rows and 15 stitches.

Pattern Instructions


Ch 60


Sl st ends together to start working in the round.


Rnd 1: ch 1, sc in same st as ch 1, sc in the next st and in each st around.(60sts)


Rnds 2 – 7


Rnd 8: – ch 3, *sk next 2 sts, 5 dc in next st, sk next 2 sts, dc in the next st, rep from * around. Sl st to top of tch.


Rnd 9: ch 3, 2 dc same st as ch3, *sk next dc, FPdc around the next 3 sts, sk next dc, 5 dc in the next st, rep around from * 2 dc in top of tch.


Rnd 10: sl st over to the 2nd dc, (ch 3, 2dc), FPdc around the next 3 sts, sk next 2 sts, 5 dc in the next st, rep from * around. Sl st to ch 3.


Rnd 11: ch 3, sl st to 2 dc, (ch 3, 2 dc same st), FPdc around the next 3 sts, sk 2 sts, 5 dc in the next st, rep from * around. 2 dc in top of tch


Rnd 12: sl st over to the 2nd dc, (ch 3, 2dc), FPdc around the next 3 sts, sk next 2 sts, 5 dc in the next st, rep from * around. Sl st to ch 3.


Rnd 13: CB ch 3, sl st to 2 dc, (ch 3, 2 dc same st), FPdc around the next 3 sts, sk 2 sts, 5 dc in the next st, rep from * around. 2 dc in top of tch

Rnd 14 –18: CA, ch 3, sl st to 2 dc, (ch 3, 2 dc same st),* FPdc around the next 3 sts, sk 2 sts, 5 dc in the next st, rep from * around. Sl st to ch 3


Rnd 19 CB- ch 3, sl st to 2 dc, (ch 3, 2 dc same st),* FPdc around the next 3 sts, sk 2 sts, 3 dc in the next st, rep from * around. 2 dc in top of tch

Finishing Touches


Finish off, leaving a 12-inch tail for closing the top of the hat. With the needle, weave in and out of each st around. Weave in the end to finish off the hat.
