My daughters have many that are macrame, something I have yet to learn, but crocheting them will do for now. For the fringe:
I cut strips of cotton measuring 24 inches. I wanted a semi-long fringe. Below is a link on how to add the fringe or tassels.
You can either chain the desired length and glue it to the back of the dowel for hanging, or I can use a white shoestring, cut it to where I want it to hang, and hot glue it to the back.
